Description

St. Paul’s Church is a church in Frankfurt. It was built from 1789 to 1833 on the site of the medieval church demolished in 1786, and until 1944 it was the main Lutheran church in Frankfurt. In the church of St. Paul from 1848 to 1849, delegates of the first German parliament, the Frankfurt National Assembly, met. After the bombing on March 18, 1944, the church burned down. After World War II, it was restored. On the 100th anniversary of the Frankfurt National Assembly on May 18, 1948, the church was opened under the name House of All Germans (German: Haus aller Deutscher). From this moment it is a national monument and is used mainly for public events.
